The International Lions Club organized the first Christmas Market in Excelsior, a community event meant to bring residents and visitors together for the holidays. The organizers expected around 50,000 people.
With that many visitors arriving at a layout nobody had seen before, finding the way around was a practical and safety concern. People needed to find vendor zones, food areas and restrooms quickly.
I volunteered to design the area map. I prioritized readability, marking the walking routes, the vendor zones and the key landmarks, and set it up for print.
The map was printed in the event pamphlet and handed out to visitors at the market.
